Stellar Performance successfully conducted its Stellar Ascending Technology Leaders Workshop, a 3.5 day, career-changing experience that helps participants cross the chasm from technical doer to leader and prepares them for increasing levels of responsibility. The workshop was conducted on April 1-4, 2019 in Denver, CO, and included an assessment to gauge the perceptions others have about participants using the Stellar TechLeader-360 Survey.

The workshop included 17 participants from Ball Corporation, Choice Hotels, Cincinnati Public Schools, Enable Midstream, Hobby Lobby, Integris Health, Kroger Co, LexisNexis, SWBC, and Toyota Motor Corp. The workshop evaluation demonstrated how important and impactful it was for the participants. During the workshop, participants created a Leadership Mandate and learned how to gain influence and support of it from the business. Through simulations, participants learned how to build trust with stakeholders, aim for small wins through fast failure and risk-taking, and engage and motivate technical staff. Participants also created the framework for being an authentic yet effective leader.

Workshop Evaluation

Five-Point Scale (1=Strongly Disagree / 5 = Strongly Agree)

  • Facilitators Engaged Participants - 5.00
  • Prepares for More Leadership Responsibility - 4.63
  • Recommend to Others - 4.88

One of the participants summed it up best by saying:

"This is the most unique and valuable leadership training I have ever attended. The smaller size group and tailored curriculum towards technical leaders made for a memorable experience while also making many key actionable takeaways possible."
